Spurs ruins Rovers direct bid for UEFA cup football

Tottenham 1 - 1 Blackburn

SUMMARY:

Blackburn Rovers will have to play in the Intertoto Cup and qualify for a place in Europe next season after Tottenham ended their direct UEFA cup qualification dreams overnight in a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

Benni McCarthy opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd minute but England striker Jermain Defoe equalised for Spurs in the second half.
