LA Galaxy home kit 2007

While David Beckham signalled his arrival in US Major League Soccer with a 16-minute appearance for LA Galaxy against Chelsea over the weekend, the club's marketing division has switched on the turbocharger with Beckham plastered all over the official website (which has received a make-over) and club merchandise.

The arrival of the global icon has even prompted a switch of jerseys to include new home and away kits with design inputs from the man himself!

The home kit is in white, blue and yellow - the collar and the famous three stripes of kit manufacturer Adidas in navy blue and yellow around the neck-line and stripes.

The club's sponsor is Herbalife with the club's redesigned logo (to coincide with Beckham's arrival, of course) on the right.

there is no doubt this is all about PR marketing for the Galaxy, I think they want to get out of Beckham that what Man U got out of him, when he was with them, I don't think they really care if Beckham doesn't play full 90 minutes for them each match, they just want the spin offs which are worth millions, you can see Becks earns more from endorsements than his actual salary. Good on them I say, it is a great investment which will work for them.

Indeed it is and it would be foolish of the Galaxy not to capitalise on this opportunity to flog Beckham at every opportunity.

Yes, he earns more from endorsements than his actual salary, but the same can be said for a host of other top players such as Ronaldinho, Rooney etc.

Beckham has earned millions and millions of pounds for both Manchester United and Real Madrid and shall continue to do so for LA Galaxy.

I actually have one of these LA Galaxy Jerseys since the company I work for is the No. 1 nutritional sponsor of the LA Galaxies and I must say I am proud of my team.

I think that most celebrities/stars earn more for endorsements than for their talent but then again, if they never had talents, no one would ask them to endorse their products. So in short, Beckham is a soccer legend and that is a fact.

As far as I'm aware, this kit (the one pictured) is completely new so you must've only recently received it?

I completely agree - Beckham is a fine player!
