November 13th 2007 07:00
Mon, Nov 12:
Reading 1 - 3 Arsenal
SUMMARY:
Manchester United's brief stay at the summit of the English Premier League was ended by Arsenal overnight as they recorded a 3 - 1 victory at Reading.
The Gunners tore apart Reading at ease with Mathieu Flamini and the impressive Emmanuel Adebayor finishing off superb moves either side of half time. Alexander Hleb then capped off a fine performance with a fantastic late solo goal to wrap up a convincing victory for the visitors.
Reading's England full-back Nicky Shorey grabbed a late, late goal in the 87th minute but it only proved to be a mere consolation for the home side who were simply outclassed by Arsene Wenger's men.
The win extended a club record unbeaten run to 27 successive games for the Gunners who are sitting at the top of the Premiership ladder level on points with Manchester United at 30 apiece, but with a crucial game in hand.
