The Sampdoria shirt has never looked the same without Atillo Lombardo in it!!!....nor David Platt for that matter!

David Platt - now that's a name I haven't heard in quite a long time

I remember him mostly from his playing days at Arsenal and for England. What an awesome goal scoring record for a midfielder!

I must be a bit older than you Charles.

I remember David Platt going around at Aston Villa pre 1990 World Cup.

From memory he scored the winners in each of England's knockout phase victories over Cameroon and Belgium (i think?) which attracted the interest of Bari.

The Arsenal stint came at the end of his career at about the same time the Guners signed Dennis Bergkamp, I think from memory George Graham was in charge

Yep, I think he was signed by George Graham, but he definitely played under Arsene Wenger as well because I remember him being part of the side that won the double in 97/98.

Impressive football knowledge/memory, Brad - you should join this site as a writer!
